Insurance requirements

It is incredibly important that you submit the correct documents when sending us information about your insurance.

This handy guide will help applicants and current members to submit the information we need:

The basics:

However you send us the information, it’s important that the documents are:

  • Legible (we can read the information)
  • In full (you send the whole document)

The formats we accept:

  • Email: PDF / JPG format to member@bikbbi.org.uk
  • Post: To BiKBBI, Riverside Business Centre, Fort Road, Essex RM18 7ND

The paperwork:

The paperwork you send must clearly have ALL of the following information contained:

  • The insurance company name
  • Your name and/or trading name
  • Trade/Business (must include: Kitchen and/or Bedroom and/or Bathroom Installation)
  • The address of The Insured (which must match the membership application address)
  • The policy number
  • The policy start and expiry dates
  • The words “Public Liability” with indemnity of £2,000,000 (or more)

Common mistakes:

  • We must receive the Policy Schedule Or Certificate of Insurance
  • We cannot accept The Statement of Fact or the Renewal Quote or the Invitation to Renew)
  • We cannot accept the Employers Liability certificate alone
